Frequently Asked Questions
What is an instant tea premix?
A powder that already contains the tea itself, the flavouring, and usually milk solids. It dissolves rather than being brewed and strained, so the finished drink comes out of the one tin.
How is it different from tea leaves or tea bags?
With leaves or a bag, the tea is steeped and then removed, and milk and sugar are separate decisions. With a premix, all of it is already combined in the powder and nothing is left behind to throw away.
What do 'Sweetened' and 'Unsweetened' mean on these packs?
They are the maker's words for two different formulations in the same range. Which one a tin is appears on its own label, and the ingredient list printed beneath is the authority on what is actually in it. This page does not make any claim about the sugar content of either.
Which flavours are in the range?
Masala, ginger and cardamom. Masala carries a mixed spice blend, while the ginger and cardamom versions lead on the one named spice. What goes into each blend is set out on that pack.
Does it contain milk?
Most premixes of this type do, because the milk is part of what makes them work without anything added. The pack's ingredient and allergen statement is the manufacturer's and is the one to read, particularly if you are avoiding dairy.
Does it contain caffeine?
It contains tea, so caffeine comes with it. The pack is the authority on the declaration and on any amount stated.
How should it be kept once the pack is open?
Closed, dry, and away from light and strong smells. Tea and coffee both pick up whatever is sitting next to them, so an airtight container or a firmly resealed pack in a cupboard is better than an open bag beside the spice jars. Keep it out of the fridge -- the damp is what spoils it.
What pack sizes are listed?
The range comes in more than one size, and the sweetened and unsweetened versions are not always packed the same way. Each listing shows its own size.
Does this page make any health or nutrition claim about this product?
No. This page describes what the product is, what it tastes like and how it is packed, and nothing more. It carries no statement about what the product does for you, and nothing on it should be read as medical, dietary or nutritional advice. The ingredient statement and any nutrition information panel printed on the pack are the only descriptions of what is in it, and the maker is the source for both.
Is the pack the authority on what is inside?
Yes. Ingredients, allergen declarations, any nutrition information panel, the manufacturer's own storage instruction and the best-before date are all printed on the pack by the maker. Where this page and a pack differ, the pack is right.
Can I order this with items from other stores?
Yes. DoorToShop lets you build one order across more than one local store, so this can go in the same basket as whatever else you are getting that day.
Is this an imported product?
Yes. Products in this range are imported, so pack design, size and label wording can change between shipments. What arrives is what the current pack says, which is another reason to read the label rather than rely on a description.
