What is the difference between a wax melt and a wax sachet?
A wax melt is warmed in a burner or an electric warmer until it releases its fragrance. A wax sachet, also called a wax tablet, is not heated at all — it is left somewhere enclosed, such as a drawer or a wardrobe, and scents that space as it sits.
Do I need a burner?
For wax melts, yes — either a tealight burner or an electric warmer. Wax sachets and tablets need nothing; they work at room temperature. The store lists a burner in its gift boxes if you do not have one.
How long does a melt last?
Until the fragrance stops coming through, which varies with the melt, the warmer and the room. When it stops scenting, the wax is spent even though it looks unchanged — that is normal, and it is the fragrance rather than the wax that is used up.
How do I get the old wax out of the burner?
