Buy pets products from Sienna Co Pet Supplies

Sienna & Co Pet Supplies in West Harbour — what they stock, and the two measurements to take before you order anything that has to fit.

Sienna & Co Pet Supplies is a local store in West Harbour listing pet accessories on DoorToShop: collars, harnesses, leads, bowls and bowl stands, beds, an indoor dog house and engraved ID tags. Accessories rather than food or medication.

Almost everything here has to fit something, which is the one thing that is harder online than in a shop. Two measurements solve most of it, and they take about a minute — so this page starts with what is listed and then covers how to take them.

What They Stock

Collars

The everyday item, and what an ID tag hangs from. Sized by neck girth rather than by the dog's weight or breed, which is why the tape measure matters more than the size chart.

Harnesses and harness packages

A harness sits around the chest and shoulders and clips to the lead there instead of at the neck. Sized by chest girth, usually measured just behind the front legs. The packages pair a harness with matching pieces.

Leads and lead sets

Sold on their own and as sets matched to a harness. Length and clip type are the practical differences; both are usually in the listing.

Bowls and bowl stands

Bowls for dogs and cats, plus an adjustable stand that holds bowls at a set height off the floor. The stand is about height and keeping bowls still, not about anything else.

Beds and indoor houses

Soft beds and a modern indoor dog house — a piece of furniture rather than an outdoor kennel. Check the external dimensions against the space you have as well as against the dog.

ID tags

Engraved tags that hang from the collar. Useful, and not a substitute for council registration or a microchip — see the FAQ below.

Measure Before You Order

Size labels are not standardised — a medium from one maker is a different set of numbers from a medium from another. Two measurements and a tape measure make the labels irrelevant.

1

Measure the neck, not the dog.

Take a soft tape measure around the base of the neck, where a collar would actually sit — low, just above the shoulders. Weight and breed do not map reliably onto neck girth, and a size guessed from either is the most common reason a collar goes back.

2

Use the two-finger rule.

You should be able to slide two fingers flat between the collar and the neck. Any tighter and it rubs; any looser and it can come off over the head. Write the number down with two fingers' allowance included.

3

For a harness, measure the chest as well.

Girth is measured around the deepest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. That is the measurement most harness sizes are set by, so you need it as well as the neck.

4

Compare against the listing, not the label.

A "medium" from one maker is not a "medium" from another. Check your two numbers against the measurements given in the listing, and ask the store for them if they are not there — it is a normal question.

5

Re-measure a growing puppy.

Every few weeks. A collar that fitted a month ago may not fit now, and a puppy is the one case where buying slightly ahead of the current measurement is sensible.

This is about fit, not about which product suits your animal. Anything to do with your pet's health or behaviour — including whether a particular collar, harness, bed or bowl stand is right for them — is a question for your vet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Sienna & Co Pet Supplies sell?

Pet accessories: dog collars, harnesses and harness packages, leads and lead sets, dog and cat bowls, an adjustable bowl stand, beds, an indoor dog house and engraved ID tags. Accessories rather than food, treats or medication.

How do I measure my dog for a collar?

Put a soft tape measure around the base of the neck, where the collar will actually sit — low, just above the shoulders. Then check you can slide two fingers flat between the tape and the neck, and use that measurement. Do not size from the dog's weight or breed; neither maps reliably onto neck girth.

How do I measure for a harness?

Measure the chest girth around the deepest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, as well as the neck. Chest girth is the measurement most harness sizing is based on.

Why does my dog's size vary between brands?

Because there is no standard behind the labels. A medium from one maker can be a different set of measurements from a medium from another. Always compare your own numbers against the measurements in the listing rather than trusting the size name, and ask the store for the measurements if they are not shown.

Collar or harness?

Plenty of people use both — a collar to carry the ID tag, and a harness for the lead. A collar attaches at the neck; a harness sits around the chest and shoulders and clips there instead. Which suits your dog is a question about your dog, and your vet or a trainer is better placed to answer it than a product listing.

Does an ID tag replace registering my dog?

No. Under the Dog Control Act 1996, dogs in New Zealand must be registered with the local council from three months of age, and most dogs must also be microchipped. An engraved tag is a useful addition to that — it is how a neighbour who finds your dog can phone you straight away — but it is not a legal substitute for either.

What is an adjustable bowl stand for?

It holds the bowls at a set height off the floor and keeps them from sliding around, and the height can be changed. If you are considering one for a health reason, ask your vet — that is a question about your animal rather than about the product.

Are the bowls dishwasher safe?

The listings do not all say. Ask the store before ordering if it matters to you — material and care details are a reasonable thing to ask for.

How fast is delivery?

Orders are dispatched by the store the next business day and typically arrive within 1 to 3 business days by courier. Enter your postcode at checkout to confirm delivery coverage for your address.

How much does delivery cost?

The base delivery fee is $5 NZD, with free delivery on orders above $69 — the exact amount is confirmed at checkout. There is no minimum order value.

What if the size is wrong when it arrives?

Contact the store, and DoorToShop support if you need help reaching them. Returns and exchanges are handled by the store that sold the item, and nothing in a store's policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 — but measuring first saves everybody the trouble.
